Do you love DIY projects that take something old and useless and turn it into something beautiful? Personally, I can never get enough of upcycling projects, and this old bike wheel wreath is one of my favorites.
It's unique, and it couldn't be easier to make. All you need is an old bicycle wheel, rope and a few pretty faux flowers and accents such as small gears. Ready to learn how to make your own?
Materials
- Bike wheel
- Thick rope
- Wire
- Faux flowers
- Wire cutters
- Hot glue gun
- Tiny metal gears
- Twine
Instructions
1. Attach the end of the rope to the wheel with a piece of wire.
Tightly wind the rope around the wheel until you've covered a section slightly longer than your hand.
2. Fasten the other end of the rope to the wheel with another piece of wire.
3. Add floral decor.
Trim off any excess stems from the faux flowers with the wire cutters.
Fasten flowers to the wheel underneath the twine and with additional wire.
It's best to choose green-colored wires as it looks like vines growing on the wheel.
Add additional flowers until you feel like they look "full."
Use hot glue to secure flowers in place.
4. Hot glue tiny metal gears to the wheel on the other side of the rope.
5. Tie a piece of twine around the top of the wreath in a loop and hang it up for everyone to see.
Show it off!
