Colorful Mosaic Straw Planter

Materials
Plastic drinking straws (approximately 100, in various colors)
Silicone mold (size suitable for a small planter)
Heat gun
Directions
Cut the plastic drinking straws into small segments, about 1 inch each.
Arrange the straw segments loosely in a silicone mold, ensuring they cover the entire base. The colors should be varied for a mosaic effect.
Using a heat gun, carefully apply heat to the straw segments, melting them slightly so they begin to fuse together. Be cautious not to overheat, as you want the pieces to maintain some of their original shape.
Allow the melted straw mosaic to cool and harden within the mold.
Once cooled, gently remove the solidified piece from the mold. If desired, trim any uneven edges with scissors for a cleaner finish.

Variations & Tips
For a different look, try using straws in a specific color scheme, such as shades of blue and green for a more cohesive design. You can also experiment with different mold shapes to create planters of various forms and sizes. If you want to add an extra layer of protection and shine, consider applying a clear, outdoor-safe sealant to the finished planter.
